I received an email from Gib Love the other day informing me that Danjay Training Solutions has closed their doors. I recently finished my course in Industrial Robotics Programming and fortunately I have my certificate, for what it's worth. Gib on the other hand isn't finished his course and now he will not be able to. The money is all paid up front and so I wonder what happens now. Will manpower enable these students to finish their studies at another school?
I am, as most know, somewhat disappointed with what my tax dollars and 24+ years of payments into the E.I. system actually get me. We are part of the manufacturing segment, which the government seems to have abandoned. Many of us. that have lost our jobs in the recent American Jihad, against Canadian unions, are in fact highly skilled, in non-portable, job specific areas, but very capable of being retrained and reinserted, into the labour pool, in new occupations. unfortunately your tax dollars get you minimum training, for a entry level position, in a field requiring 12 to 20 weeks training. In other words, a minimum wage occupation. A brother or sister in their early fifties, with thirty years or more of work behind them, supporting the system, deserves more respect than this.
Service Canada is supporting a system in Brantford, that is leaching tax dollars away from any real possibility, of retraining proven, productive, citizens. Instead the system supports ripoffs like Danjay and classes in "knowing your color" which prepare you for the local sweat shops in the temp agency system.
I find myself speechless at the ability of Service Canada and the local Liberal politicians to continue to collect their wages while doing nothing of significance in this area. They cannot plead ignorance. I feel that they should resign and try out E.I. for a while.

I have to say, I greatly benefitted from Gib Loves skills in Web Design. He took my NDP webpage and made it very respectable and professional.
We are constantly seeing situations were places that are supposedly helping us close in short order.
Terrace Hill Clinic, Danjay etc.
Gib was in today, and I am certain he will continue his training

iam very offended by you calling my dads company a rip off. Danjay was a highly respected private school that unlike most private school was a reconized school in brantford. You dont know all the facts behind him closing the doors. And maybe if the governemt didnt cut funding for private schools then he would still be open. So before you go blabbing to people about danjay being a rip off, get your facts straight
I understand that you would defend your father. That is quite natural but maybe you should have some conversation with the students who attended the school. Dan's concern that the closure would have precipitated a screaming match was very justified. Service Canada will not replace the lost tuition so these people have lost their jobs and now they have lost any possibility of retraining. Sweatshops here we come.
With regard to the quality of the course, I ended up paying over $10,000 including $400.00+ for about $100.00 worth of books which I could have gotten at used store for under $20.00 plus a binder full of propriatory material which someone had made illegal copies of and affixed Danjay's name to.
The PLC portion of the course was lifted straight off the internet.

If this was a respectable private school then at least for the students that were midcourse, there should be full refunds made since the school failed utterly on their side of the contract.
I was a student at Danjay. The Government did not fund my training. I used my RRSP's to fund myself which Dan Thompson had full knowledge about. I also had just had a baby girl 2 months before, which Dan also had full knowledge about. This Dan Thompson has no soul, to be able to take money from people that are so hard up. I was half way through my Motoman training when Motoman told us that Danjay had closed their doors and that our training and the group before us was not paid for, so they have to cut their losses and end training now. Motoman being an amazing company still trained us for that day because they have a heart that works in their chests and gave us references for employment,alot more than Dan Thompson ever did for us. I tried to contact Dan after I found out about the closing, using the website he left on the door, stating would still be open for two weeks and he was too much of a coward to reply. So because of his cowardess I'm looking into sueing him for the money owed to me and my family for a big waste of my time.
